Folder file content ignoring first x characters of name

Postby Rafow » Fri Apr 29, 2016 8:23 pm

Hi,
I would like to be able to compare the file names within two folders but have it ignore the first 6 characters of the filenames. The files names in each folder start with the same 6 characters as the folder they are within. Each folder may contain several dozen files

1st folder name 2nd folder name
123456 ABCDEF

Files
123456_A ABCDEF_A
123456_B ABCDEF_B
123456_C ABCDEF_C

Is there a way to filter this?

Thank you.

File filter for use with WinMerge 2011:
Code: Select all
## IgnoreFirst6.flt

name: Ignore first 6
desc: Ignores first 6 characters in filenames

equiv-f: /^(......)/ ## Filter for filename
