combining differences

I am not sure how can I combine line differences from both files without manual operations, i.e.

file1:
aaa
bbb
ccc

file2:
aaa
zzz
ccc

result:
aaa
bbb
zzz
ccc

Is there a command or rather commands - "combine, left first" and "combine, right first" - which can do this without manual copying?
