Can't select DVD drive

Postby Freonpsandoz » Thu Mar 19, 2020 8:27 pm

On Windows 10, I can't seem to select the root folder of a DVD-ROM drive for comparison with another folder. When I browse and select it, the selected folder shows up as "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Burn\". I had to type in the DVD root folder name manually.

It works for me. It could be that I'm using a virtual optical drive with a LInux ISO mounted in it, but I doubt WinMerge would work properly for a virtual drive and not for a physical one. I wonder if the disc you're trying to select is actually a writeable disc and Windows has stuff waiting to be written, and that's why it's happening.
