fldiff as starting point for a new cross-platform effort?

I am starting to like FLTK for cross platform development. http://www.easysw.com/~mike/fldiff/ uses it, and presents results pretty much like WinMerge does.

Cross-platform effort? In order for software to be useful it need to be widely adopted. The other key consideration is covering your legal basis with a good lawyer

WinMerge is widely adopted. Check the download counts.

And WinMerge is GPL (perhaps LGPL in future) open source licensed. So lawyers aren't our problem.
